NOTE ON RCAF HURRICANE MARK NUMBERS
All the Hurricanes on these pages, and most other RCAF Mk. XIIs, were initially delivered with the RCAF designation Mk. II, even though they differed from RAF Hurricane Mk. IIs in several ways.  This became an issue when the Canadian built aircraft began to arrive in the UK, and the designation Mk. XII, both in the RAF and the RCAF, was applied retroactively.   For simplicity, I have referred to all these aircraft as only Mk. XIIs.
