Assembled with components supplied by Grumman  (also reported as delivered complete, then disassembled at de Havilland Canada, may have been USN BuAer number 136519).  Also marked X500 during trials?  Taken on strength 18 December 1955.  Serial number 1501 assigned by October 1956.  Used for production jig verification, and for tests at de Havilland Canada, Downsview, and at the National Aeronautical Establishment at RCAF Station Uplands.  Taken on strength at VX 10 18 December 1955, again 27 September 1956 to 8 January 1957.  Used as prototype for CS2F-2.  To the Naval Air Maintenance School as instructional airframe A706 on 29 January 19 57, and 29 March 1968.  Now preserved at Shearwater Aviation Museum.
